Schmincke Venetian Turpentine Resin 073 is a natural balsam turpentine. It is ideal for creating your own tempera paints and as an oil painting medium.

This Schmincke Venetian Turpentine Resin 073 is viscous and transparent. It is soluble in oil of turpentine or turpentine substitute. It is sold in 90 ml jars.

For a standard venetian turpentine resin solution as an additive in tempera colours, mix 1 part Schmincke Venetian Turpentine Resin 073 with 3 parts turpentine - the process should optimally be done at room temperature. For better handling of this highly viscous resin the sealed container can be allowed to warm up in a water bath (max. 50° C), but do not place the container directly on a hot plate. Clean tools as soon as possible with turpentine substitute, oil of turpentine or brush cleaner. A dried Venetian turpentine resin remains soluble in oil of turpentine or turpentine substitute. Close immediately after use. Store in a cool and dry place.
