Clairefontaine OIL Special Paper blocks contain 15 sheets of 240 gsm paper that has been specially treated so your paint cant bleed through. The paper has a medium fine linen texture.

The paper is treated directly in the pulp in order to achieve complete impermeability to oil and turpentine. This process makes paints adhere well to the paper giving excellent textured or layered effects when working fat over lean. The paper in the Clairefontaine OIL Special Paper blocks is acid free (pH neutral) and readily withstands alterations. (see also item code 52617 for pads, sheets and rolls)

Price per block.

Review this product
Alan
I have previously used Rowney Georgian oil painting paper and found it very good. For storage reasons I prefer to use it rather than canvases. I bought this product because the Great Art shop did not have the large size Georgian pads in stock, but I am disappointed. The paper appears more absorbant than Georgian and the paint becomes unworkable in an hour. Working the paint results in some 'flocking' - bits on the surface which spoils the painting. It is fine for quick paintings with no rework but I will not be buying this make again.
