Gerstaecker Classico Linen Stretched Canvases are 100% linen and have been specially developed for artists who prefer to work on linen. They are ideal for both oil and acrylics.

These Classico Linen Stretched Canvases are coated with several coats of low absorbency universal primer and have a medium grain surface. The canvas weighs 450 gsm and is highly durable. It is tacked on the sides and stapled to the inside of the frame. The stretchers are natural pine, 20 mm x 40 mm, and each canvas comes with harwood wedges for tensioning.

Gerstaecker Classico Linen Stretched Canvases are incredible value for money. They are available as individual canvases or packs of 4 or 6. Support bars are included from 60 cm and above, and a single cross from 80 cm x 80 cm.

Fairly Good Quality Canvas - I have started using these supports recently, and found them satisfying for my purposes (large size oils). However, I agree with David regarding the traces of wrapping on the sides, it is indeed irritating, and sometimes one can not see it until one paints over it. As for the wedges, - I am using my own anyway.

High Quality support - These linen canvases are made from nice strong canvas that gives a pleasant finish.
I usually give them an extra two gesso acrylic primes if applying oil paint to be sure the paint does not reach the bare material - which would obviously rot it.
I have used many of them at 60 x 80 cm and they are consistently good and worth the money.
Will be buying more of them.

Classico Linen Canvas - I've been using mainly Classico canvasses for more than ten years now. I think speaks for itself. However, the cellophane wrapping is put on with the tin tacks holding the canvas. This leaves an irritating trace of wrapping left on the sides and more importantly, the wedges are random and often far too thick. I have to shave them down with a Stanley knife to avoid splitting the stretchers. Could this be improved? Or, could I have a supply of spare wedges save time and effort correcting something that is faulty?
