Gerstaecker Gesso Boards are made of 5 mm thick MDF joined to a solid wood frame. They are ready primed with a white primer giving a fine grain finish.

The frame can be incorporated into your artwork for unique texture effects. The primer on the board is acrylic emulsion, which is water based.

These high quality Gerstaecker Gesso Boards have a 5 cm thick solid wood frame making them very rigid and stable. From 70 cm upwards the Gerstaecker Gesso Boards have a central support bar, and the 70 cm x100 cm has a central cross support.

I agree with other customers, I bought a large 70x100 panel which is quite simply not fit for purpose. It warped with only a preliminary layer of acrylic paint on. I persisted thinking I could disguise it but it was far too severe a distortion. It was a fibreboard, and I expected it to be ply like unprimed ones. the board is not thick enough to not warp and the support is too chunky to get frames for (if required) . Not happy.

Primed Panels v All Wood Panels - I have bought both these products and find them both really good. The All Wood panels certainly seem better quality and the wood edges give a superior finish to the work. The painted ones are quite adequate for my needs (photo collage with wax) and allow me to stray around the edges.
I like the unusual proportions and variety of sizes in both products. Sometimes the panels themselves are an inspiration in their own right.

Good Value - I found these panels to be well made and great value, I bought a few different sizes for oil painting. They have been primed and have a slightly grey appearance but the construction seemed perfectly sound to me.

Be better off buying Gerstaecker Tintoretto All Wood Painting Panels and gessoing them yourselves. - Brought them as assumed be like Gerstaecker Tintoretto All Wood Painting Panels but ready gesso'd. Disappointingly they not a patch on All Wood painting Panel. Poor quality, shoddy construction. I found the panels split from cradles on first use.
Be better off buying Gerstaecker Tintoretto All Wood Painting Panels and gessoing them yourselves.
