Kirschen | Angled Carving Chisels — Cut 1

Kirschen Angled Carving Chisels Cut 1 are hand-forged from high-quality special high carbon steel to a hardness of 61 Rockwell. They have excellent edge retention and are heat-treated in accordance with the latest technical findings.

These ready-to-use chisels have highly polished blades and octagonal hornbeam handles. "Cut 1" refers to a completely flat profile with no curvature, however the cutting edge is ground at an angle (usually roughly 45° across the width) rather than square to the sides. This allows you to slide smoothly into tight corners, carve cleanly across grain lines, and perform precise chip carving or relief work.

Kirschen Angled Carving Chisels Cut 1 have a variable overall length depending on the blade width:

• blade width up to 16 mm: 23 cm overall length
• blade width 16 – 22 mm: 24 cm overall length
• blade width 22 cm and above: longer than 25 cm
