These Kirschen Flat Gouges Cut 7 are hand-forged tools designed for versatile waste removal, relief carving, and shaping concave surfaces.

The blades are hand-forged from high-quality special high carbon steel to a hardness of 61 Rockwell. They are ready-to-use with highly polished blades and octagonal hornbeam handles. "Cut 7" represents a medium-to-deep curve, making it an excellent all-rounder for both major material excavation and detail work

Kirschen Flat Gouges Cut 7 are 25 cm long and have a 12 cm blade.

Key features at a glance:

  • hand-forged from premium high-carbon tool steel and heat-treated to an exceptional hardness of 61 HRC along the working length.
  • the blades come completely mirror-polished, which reduces friction during deep cuts and offers native resistance against rust and corrosion.
  • factory-ground to a standard 17° carving angle, ideal for soft to medium-hard woods. For dense hardwoods, you may need to hone a slightly steeper micro-bevel.
  • fitted with a traditional, comfortable octagonal hornbeam wood handle that resists rolling off your workbench.

TIP! Because they are made from pure high-carbon steel, the blades are susceptible to natural corrosion. They should be wiped down with a lightly oiled cloth (such as Ballistol Universal Oil) after each session or prior to long-term storage.
