ROHRER & KLINGNER Bistre Indian Ink is a speciality in our ink program. Bistre ink is a warm, classical brown tone which has been used since the 13th century and was favoured by great masters such as Rembrandt.

This ROHRER & KLINGNER Bistre Indian Ink is ideal for pen and ink drawings, calligraphy and brush drawings with delicate washes. It is largely lightfast. The ink differs from other drawing inks because it has shellac solution as a binder where others use a pure acrylate. It is available in 50 ml or 250 ml environmentally friendly glass bottles.
