WINSOR & NEWTON™ Filbert Hog Bristle Brushes are particularly suitable for oil and acrylic painting. The Winton filbert brush gives a broad mark with a soft edge.

Filbert brushes are flat with an oval tip, and combine the control of a short flat brush with the softer edges of a round brush.

These WINSOR & NEWTON™ Filbert Hog Bristle Brushes have long handles. They are made from selected Chinese hog bristles which are inserted by hand into seamless, corrosion resistant ferrules. The natural curvature of the pig bristles produces a resilient brush which retains its shape even under heavy use, giving the artist more control and accuracy.

Better to buy one of these than 6 cheap ones - I've had some of my W&N hog brushes for 20 years. They just last and last, while at the same time making exactly the mark you want. No stray hairs, perfectly trimmed, just a quality product. Honestly, don't waste your money on cheap brushes, I don't care what art school tutors say. PS after cleaning with turpentine/white spirit, wash them with soap and water, blot dry and dry as quickly as possible.
