The colours of these professional CHARVIN EXTRA-FINE Acrylics are based on the colours of nature around the Meditteranean. They possess remarkable flexibility and covering power, offering perfect resistance to light and ageing.
The pigments are rubbed in small batches into the binder - a premium acrylic polymer - on a traditional Bühler triple roller, just like with their oil paints. As a result, the pigments are evenly distributed in the binder and completely surrounded by it - that is what is meant by the term extra-fine! The result is a paint with a buttery, supple texture and a medium heavy-body consistency. Due to this texture, the paint allows you to achieve impasto effects and may be adapted to suit your pictorial technique by the use of Charvin acrylic supplements. Under the brush, this paint even feels a bit like oil paint!
TIP! This paint also lends itself perfectly to impressionist techniques, where you try to capture light and colours in touches that you put directly onto your canvas - perfect if you like working en plein air. And for this, use a flat & short brush - what we call a bright - with hair with a certain springiness.
