The ingredients of this premium Tri-Art™ premium F.Q. HIGH VISCOSITY acrylic paint are as pure as possible. Only the very best pigments are used in the highest possible concentration — no fillers or extenders are added.
This ensures that the characteristic properties and colour strength — the chroma — of the pigments remain intact. The binder is a 100% pure acrylic emulsion. ➽ F.Q. stands for Finest Quality — professional level.
All colour ranges of the spectrum are well represented. For some colours, you can even choose between a transparent and an opaque variant. The opacity and gloss level are determined by the inherent properties of each pigment and by the pigment size. The finer a pigment is ground, the more transparent and glossy the colour. The coarser a pigment is, the more opaque and matt the colour.
Take these two colours, for example, both mono-pigmented with the same pigment, PY 42:
099 Transparent yellow oxide — finely ground and very transparent
108 Yellow oxide — coarsely ground and very opaque
The processing properties of this Tri-Art™ premium F.Q. HIGH VISCOSITY acrylic paint are somewhat similar to oil paint. It has a high viscosity — heavy body — and is therefore somewhat stiffer, with a smooth, buttery texture. The signature of your brushstrokes or the marks you make with a palette knife are retained — your touch remains as you apply it. This makes this paint the perfect choice for expressive impasto techniques!
TIP! It is best to use a brush with sufficient resistance and resilience, such as the MASTER brush from GERSTAECKER.

TIP! You can, of course, use this paint on its own. However, all colours are so highly pigmented that you can also use them in combination with Tri-Art™ acrylic mediums without reducing the colour strength — and some applications work even better! The gel mediums have the same high viscosity as this HIGH VISCOSITY acrylic paint, while the polymer mediums have a lower viscosity and make the paint more fluid.
➽ Tri-Art™ ★★★★★ quality — proudly Canadian!
It started as a sideline of Art Noise, an art shop and gallery in Kingston, Ontario (Canada). Acrylic paint was made by hand on a small scale at the back of the shop. And the professionals liked that paint — no gimmicks, just great paint!
