Synus pigments, which are the most opaque and shiny, are at the top of each group of shades and intended for artists wishing to work opaque surfaces. All the shades, including yellows, oranges and reds, are both brilliant and transparent, offer excellent value for money and are an attractive alternative to azo and phthalo pigments. They consist of a careful selection of opaque pigments of cadmium and cobalt associated with the brightest organic pigments, creating the brightest opaque pigments without the addition of white. The recipes of the Synus pigments - whose name comes from "Synergy" - are developed exclusively for Gerstaecker.
Gerstaecker Extra-Fine Artists Pigments are sold in 100 - 250g pots, the weight depending on the pigment.

The Artists and Illustrators magazine a few months ago had recipes for making paints. I have just made egg tempera and oil paint with these pigment to show children how paints used to be made. The colours are lovely, and the pigment is so fine that it did not need to be ground further. My only complaint is that I only have these two colours! I need more!
