GIUSTO MANETTI Water Based Size is a specialised adhesive used by artists and restorers for gold leaf gilding. The adhesive fluid applied to non-water-resistant surfaces (like wood, plaster, stucco, and papier-mâché) to make gold or metal leaf stick.
This size is an acrylic-based co-polymer resin emulsified in a water solution. It can be used straight out of the bottle or diluted with water by up to 30%.
To use: apply in thin, even layers using a brush, pad, or spray. Gold leaf can typically be applied 30 to 60 minutes after application, once the surface becomes tacky.
