I Love Art Stepped Profile Natural Floater Frames are ideal for highlighting artwork for display in galleries, studios or homes. They have a deep stepped profile width of 5.3 cm and are 3.5 cm deep.

These frames are made of Abachi wood. They offer excellent value for money. TIP! If you wish to enhance the floating effect even more fix narrow spacers between the canvas and the frame.

I Love Art Stepped Profile Natural Floater Frames are made to give the impression the image is 'floating' in the frame. To frame stretched canvases simply place the canvas face down and the frame also face down over the top of the canvas. Screw canvas spring clips or canvas securing clips into the back of the canvas and secure it into the I Love Art Stepped Profile Natural Floater Frame. To frame photographs first mount them onto a backing board with double-sided tape and then fix them into the frame from the back.

Please note:

1. When purchasing any floater frame from GreatArt, select a frame the same size as your canvas. Adding extra length is not necessary as this has already been taken into account.

2. Canvas spring clips or canvas securing clips are not included. Please see item codes 81727 or 81181.

These frames look great, they are sized so that the matching size canvas sits exactly in the recess with wiggle room for canvas folds. you could also probably use these frames with canvases or boards about 1 - 2 cm larger than the official measurement, but you'd obviously get a smaller border area. My gripe is that the paint finish chips REALLY easily. It might be best to buy the wood ones and paint them yourself. I have to buy some more painted ones now as a client has bought some more paintings and wants the frames to match. Careful handling required!

Mostly very pleased with the 60 x 50 I received today. The only comment I would make is that the return for attaching the canvas is very narrow for drilling.
There is less than half an inch to play with, but with care it's no problem. Maybe they're all made like this

Great Art will exchange them but it is a bit tiresome when it happens more than once. The last one I received had been 'repaired' with a bit of wood filler. it was not obvious at first sight and to save me sending it back, I decided to keep it but I just hope no potential buyer will spot it. Therefore, good frames but a little more care is needed when handling and repairs should be a no no !

floater frames - A bit disappointed. Looks good at first glance but look a bit more closely....Out of 5, one had to be replaced by GreatArt as it was damaged (not in transit; poor quality control in factory). Of the remainder, one was a little out of square, and all needed corners sanding, some due to overshooting, some to being out of level....ie careless use of the underpinner.
This is tricky and tedious work and wastes time, but unless done would not be up to gallery exhibition standard.
What a pity, because the moulding design is great, and difficult to get elsewhere. Just needs better quality control. Be prepared to fettle.

Natural floater frames - A sturdy wooden frame in natural wood. I painted the frame and, since the painting was on a thin panel I glued it into the frame where it fitted perfectly. I am very happy with the result, it looks as good as a professionally framed painting but is a lot cheaper.
