These Kuretake CHIJIRUSHI Ink Sticks are ideal for kanji practice. They produce a pure black calming ink colour.

Kanji are logographic Chinese characters, adapted from Chinese script, used in the writing of Japanese. They comprised a major part of the Japanese writing system during the time of Old Japanese and are still used, along with the subsequently derived syllabic scripts of hiragana and katakana.

The ink is made by grinding the Kuretake CHIJIRUSHI Ink Stick on an inkstone with water to create a pigment-rich, lightfast ink suitable for various artistic applications where fine brushstrokes and vivid colour are desired. The sticks consist of traditional soot, glue, and fragrance.

The Kuretake CHIJIRUSHI Ink Sticks are available in 2 different sizes:

  • 50279 = size 1: 70 mm x 160 mm x 15 mm
  • 50280 = size 1.5: 21 mm x 78 mm x 10 mm

Price per stick.
