modern options | INSTANT IRON™ Basecoat — water-based

modern options INSTANT IRON™ Basecoat can be used in combination with the INSTANT RUST™ Antiquing Solution (item code. 24474) to give all kinds of objects an 'antique' rusted appearance.

It is ideal for almost any surface on which you can work with acrylic paint, e.g. wood, plaster, ceramics, metal etc. This product is water-based, clean brushes well with water after use.

To apply modern options INSTANT IRON™ Basecoat:

• 1. first thoroughly clean the surface to be painted
• 2. apply an undercoat with Primo Primer & Clear Sealant (item code. 29064) for better adhesion of the rust effect primer, or when applying to a metal surface, use the Primo Primer for Rustable Metals (item code 29063) for cleaning and priming.
• 3. when the primer is dry, apply 2-3 coats of modern options INSTANT IRON™ Basecoat and allow to dry for about 1 hour before applying the next coat.
• 4. once fully dry apply the INSTANT RUST™ Antiquing Solution for a rust effect - the rust effect will become visible within a few hours.

To protect the work we recommend varnishing it with the primer/sealant.

TIP! modern options INSTANT IRON™ Basecoat may also be used alone if a coarse grained iron surface is desired.
