Schmincke Watercolour Varnish 112 is an alcohol varnish used for the final treatment of watercolour paintings.It provides long-lasting protection and - being waterproof - also protects against moisture.

This Schmincke Watercolour Varnish 112 is characterised by the following properties:

  • alcohol varnish for technical watercolour work
  • deepens the colour tones
  • increases the gloss
  • increases the transparency of watercolour paper
  • forms a protective film over the finished watercolour
  • dries to a silky gloss
  • contains UV protection, alcohol and polyvinyl resin
  • 60 ml bottles

TIPS!

  • the gloss level of the film depends on the absorbency of the surface, the painting technique and the thickness of the varnish layer.
  • if too much varnish is applied, the work may lose its ‘lightness’.
