These ABIG Ceramic Firing Plates are designed for use with enamelling kilns. They are removable kiln inserts / base plates that protect the bottom of your kiln from direct contact with your work, and any splashes or oxides, thus keeping the interior clean.
This firing tray is also often used in combination with a firing grid or stilts, for example for enamel or ceramic jewellery.
TIP! You can arrange your work on this plate outside the kiln and then slide it into the hot kiln, so that your work does not heat up slowly. After firing, you can then quickly remove your work from the kiln along with the plate, so that it does not have to cool down inside the kiln.
