These ABIG Enamel Firing Racks are designed for use with enamelling kilns. They support your items inside the kiln, ensuring that heat can reach them evenly from all sides — including the underside.

To use: simply place your item on the rack and use a kiln shovel (item no. 51946) to position the rack inside the kiln. To protect the bottom of your kiln from any splashes and oxides, you can place a firing plate (item no. 51958 etc.) underneath the firing rack

Perfect for enamelling, decorative firing and glass fusing. TIP! You can also use this rack as a tray when sprinkling your piece with, for example, enamel powder. You can collect the excess powder that falls through the rack’s holes and reuse it.

Product specifications for the ABIG Enamel Firing Racks at a glance:

  • fine-meshed, so that small objects receive sufficient support — open enough for optimal heat circulation
  • material: heat-resistant metal alloy — does not oxidise or warp under extreme heat
  • maximum firing temperature: approx. 1100° C
  • available in different sizes

NB These racks are not suitable for stoneware or ceramics at high temperatures. The metal may soften, the grate may bend, and metal oxides may be released, which could damage your work.
