Clairefontaine FONTAINE NOT watercolour pads are spiral-bound pads that offer an extremely pleasing watercolour surface but are also suitable for gouache, ink or acrylic.
Each Clairefontaine FONTAINE NOT watercolour pad contains 12 sheets of 300 gsm, 100% cotton, pH neutral paper which is free from optical brighteners. The paper is manufactured on a cylinder machine but the purity of the water and cotton used to make the pulp, plus the quality and consistency of the sizing (both in the pulp and on the surface) make this paper unique in its handmade-like finish. Using Clairefontaine FONTAINE watercolour paper is a dream as it has a great capacity for absorption and resistance to wrinkling, plus colours are rendered well without losing their brightness. The excellent finish means retouching is also possible.
