Gerstaecker Iron-III-Chloride Powder (96 - 98%) can be described as the ideal etchant. It is perfect for uniformly etching zinc, copper and brass.
Recommended mixing ratio: 3 parts water to 1 part Gerstaecker Iron-III-Chloride Powder (96 - 98%)
The powder has the following properties:
- safe etching solution
- does not develop gases
- uniformly etches zinc, copper and brass
- sold in 400g tubs
N.B. The bowl should be kept moving during the etching process. Be careful of your clothes, ferric chloride solution gives rust stains. Close the can tightly after use.
