Tri-Art™ F.Q. Black Gesso is a high-quality semi-absorbent, universal acrylic primer. It creates a stable, flexible, absorbent surface that is ideal for acrylic and oil paints, and some tempera paints.
F.Q. stands for Finest Quality — professional level! This matt black drying acrylic-based gesso has excellent coverage and flexibility. You can sand it to achieve a smoother surface, or mix it with F.Q. Modelling Paste to achieve a more textured surface.
You can apply Tri-Art™ F.Q. Black Gesso straight from the pot or diluted with F.Q. Polymer Medium or water. The gesso can be used neat or diluted with water to allow for thinner applications and transparent primers. Thanks to its creamy consistency, Tri-Art™ Black Gesso is easy to apply with a brush, roller or palette knife. Multiple layers enhance the opacity and allow for individual priming for different artistic effects. An indispensable tool for artists looking for a professional primer for their painting projects!
