The Léonard Outremer Gilding brush series 2318RB is a special brush that is used for classic gilding. The soft petit gris synthetic fibres are double-bonded and held by a short shaped wooden handle.
Without a handle and with the round domed shape, these brushes are perfect as so-called ‘appuyeux’ brushes. They are used for pressing gold leaf onto moistened surfaces and for gentle smoothing and structuring without damaging the delicate metal. Thanks to its exceptional elasticity and suppleness, it is also ideal for sweeping and smoothing gold leaf, silver leaf or metal leaf.
