MAIMERI | DENSE GEL MEDIUM — 629 / 631

This colourless DENSE GEL MEDIUM from MAIMERI can be added to acrylic paint to increase the volume and raise the viscosity, so your paint becomes thicker and stiffer. It also makes the paint film more elastic and robust.

TIP! This medium is perfect for giving your paint a little more body when using impasto techniques. The gloss version makes your colours brighter, while the matt version gives them a more matt, satin-like appearance. You can also work with the contrasts between glossy and matt in the same painting.

This GEL MEDIUM is available in two variants in 500 ml pots:

• 629 brillante = gloss — makes colours brighter and slightly increases gloss
• 631 opaco = matt — with matting silicon dioxide; makes colours more matt and slightly reduces gloss

➽ Get the best out of your paint!

If you dilute acrylic paint heavily with water alone, you may experience underbinding - there will be too little binder left in your paint. Your paint will lose its binding power and will no longer be able to form a good paint film. This will also reduce qualities such as adhesive strength, lightfastness, gloss level and colour strength.

If you use an acrylic medium to dilute your paint - or at least add it to the water you use to dilute your paint - the good properties of your paint will be retained when diluted and you will obtain beautiful, stable paint layers.
