MAIMERI POPPY OIL 656 is a high-purity, non-yellowing, slow-drying semi-drying oil used in oil painting, particularly for whites and light colours. It is pressed from poppy seeds and is refined and extremely pure.

This oil dries slowly and is therefore best used thinly and only in the top layers of your painting. Because poppy seed oil does not yellow, it is often used in oil painting for whites and other light colours, either on its own or in combination with linseed oil. However, the paint film is somewhat less robust than the paint film you get when using pure linseed oil.

TIP! Due to its combination of non-yellowing, slow drying and the depth it gives to your colours, poppy seed oil is traditionally often used for wet-on-wet techniques and glaze layers.
