Lascaux Aquatint Spray Resist is a blue-tinted, water-soluble acrylic copolymer dispersion used in modern acrylic-resist etching (ARE) to create controllable tonal effects comparable to traditional rosin-based aquatint.

This resist offers a safer, solvent-free alternative to traditional printmaking grounds, allowing artists to apply fine dot matrices directly to plates without using toxic aquatint dust boxes or thermal melting. It is highly compatible with the broader Lascaux printmaking system, including Lascaux Lift, Wash Resist, and Hard Ground

This Lascaux Aquatint Spray Resist can be applied to all metals (unbitten or previously etched plates) using a simple diffuser/airbrush/spray gun. The sprayed dots of resist are designed to maintain their individual integrity and to dry rapidly on the plate surface.

Plates should be prepared, grained, degreased and dried before the Aquatint Spray Resist is applied (follow the detailed information provided in the technical sheet for Lascaux Hard Resist)
